TNI Task Forces Commander Visited Kenyam Directly To Communivate With Religious Figures Of The Oldest Church 

NDUGA - The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Wednesday, 24 July 2024.

Commander of the 503 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, accompanied by several officers and soldiers, visited the Kingmi Jerusalem Church, Kenyam City, Nduga Regency. The Commander’s arrival was intended to conduct Social Communication (Komsos) with the Toga (Religious Figures) of the Jerusalem Kingmi Church.

The Kingmi Jerusalem Church is the oldest in Kenyam and since its founding until now it has been used as a place of worship for the Kenyam City Congregation and several surrounding areas. Seeing the presence of the Commander, Mr. Zsakeus Kogoya as Head of the Classis of the Kingmi Jerusalem Church immediately welcomed him openly and was followed by the Togas who were with Mr. Zsakeus. With a harmonious Komsos, Mr. Zsakeus said, "Thank you, Commander 503, for visiting us. The Kingmi Jerusalem Church building is quite old and needs some repairs."

Responding to the statement, the Commander replied, "The 503 Task Forces is ready to help build the facilities for the Kingmi Jerusalem Church. We hope that the Reverend Fathers and Mothers and the entire community will be pleased with our good intentions. We will purchase and prepare all repair and construction materials." Hearing the response, Mr. Zsakeus said, "Yes Commander, we are happy to accept the good intentions of the 503. Thank you TNI. We cannot repay, but God will reward this good thing."

After receiving the activity report, the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, said, "The initiative of the 503 Task Forces to conduct Social Communication with the Toga of the Kingmi Jerusalem Church in Kenyam, is the TNI's implementation of conducting inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders in the Task Area, to support acceleration development in the Papua region.”
